Most of you know I have been working on Self-compassion for sometime now. With self-compassion come kindness with others.
When we are on our healing journeys, learning out to use our angry in constructive ways is hard lesson to master. So often I miss the mark in putting enough space between my thought and my actions.
To this end I would like to share the end of a letter that sent to our President, by Michael K. Marsh. You will have to do your own research, as forum rules prevent me from going further.
The end of this letter is inspiring, moving and humbling.
I did NOT post this for the political connections, or his belief in God, but rather the choices to use love and kindness in place of other emotions. That is the take away from this!
Things have been slow on the forum lately, albeit tense. I would like to bring everyone into a circle, do 3 deep cleansing breaths, deep and loud exhales. Then remember why you came here in the beginning. Our shadow selfs easily take control when we are not diligent. They are easily chased away though.
My hope is that in sharing this quote, the gentle camaraderie and love always felt on this forum will slow return and we will grow even stronger!
Michael K. Marsh
"I will not do violence to you by my thoughts, words, or actions. I do not want to shame, humiliate, or harm you. I will pray for you, America, and myself.
I will not be passive. I will resist you with love and seek your good, not because I am especially fond of you but because I believe God loves you, even as God loves Muslims, immigrants and refugees, women, the disabled, and Mexicans.
I will not make my fight against you, other people, political parties, races, or religions. I will make my fight against injustice and the forces of darkness.
I will not adjust myself to your presidency or any presidency that promotes injustice, acts with violence, speaks hatred, or denies the dignity of another human being."
Peace my friends
