Sorry Jamie, I think your gp is worried that if you use the scooter, you will stop walking. Though I know you wont, you will still walk. I hope he comes around. Are you going to try the lyrica?

I hope you have a good sleep mate.

Hugs, Karen...

Happy Thanksgiving to all!!!

Happy belated birthday Karen and Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Alot to be thankful for right now. Mom's health went from death bed to actually going on short outings with her care provider! Daughter getting married tomorrow!

Good morning to Thanksgiving Thursday
Cool, but sunny.
I'm not celebrating the holiday this year...so no frantic work today.

~ Joyce

Did You Know
Pilgrims did not eat potatoes for Thanksgiving as they thought they were poisonous.

Only male turkeys, called toms, gobble. Females, called hens, cackle.

There are four places in the United States named Turkey. Louisiana's Turkey Creek Turkey, Texas; Turkey, North Carolina; and Turkey Creek, Arizona. Also, two townships in Pennsylvania... the Upper Turkeyfoot and Lower Turkeyfoot!

Interesting on turkey foot etc...

I am sorry you are not celebrating the holiday Joyce, can you go to your son's? Or maybe you don't want to. I hope you have a nice day regardless.

Thank you Weary. I appreciate the thoughts.

I hope everybody has a nice day today. I will be cooking.

Hugs, Karen...

Hi Karen...what are your plans?

Nope, my choice to low key today. Usually am the hostess...but backed out this year. Feeling guilty, though
Physical ailments are just extra heavy this year.

I'll also be doing the same for December celebrations.

I am cooking, it is just John and I. Nice, quiet and relaxing I hope. I have no clue when I am going to start cooking. I made beans and deviled eggs yesterday. So the rest should be somewhat easy.

Taking my time and going slow.

I hope everybody has a good day. No matter what you are doing.

Lynnwood, thanks for that info!

Apple pie in the oven...next is pumpkin...then the cake.

Still don't know exactly when son will arrive...he said not to hold dinner...might take him up on that!

Hoping everyone has a peaceful day and please know that I am thankful for you all!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE

Hope your day was great Karen!

Cass, I have the same issues, sometimes as you do, but for I do not work anymore.

I have worked out some short cuts.

i.e. you have something in your hand for the laundry/hamper, dust everything one the way to the laundry with it. Railings, tables, dresser . get it?

Jamie,

Careful with Lyrica, I tried it when it first come out. I was up to 600mg and it did not work for my head pain.
Weird since it was formulated for Diabetic foot pain.
Anyway I had bad side effects from it. Try to stay on as low a dose as possible..

Peace and strength all

Hello to all this Friday
Frosty morning...but sunny
Hope the holiday was pleasant for all...and in case you ate too much I'll post a few suggestions below

Hi Joyce, Jamie, Trina and Pitmom,

I hope you are all having a good day. Windy here but not too cold. Might rain.

But the sun is trying to come out.

Take care all...

Had my kids and grandkids here for Thanksgiving dinner. No tablecloth as my granddaughter likes to hold the edge of the table and swing! No fancy plates, just the day to day ones. It was wonderful!

Started the day baking apple pie, then pumpkin pie, then the 'cake' (thanks again Lynn), then put the ham in and half way through did the potatoes. At the end, daughter put the biscuits in the oven and the corn in the microwave. Teamwork!

Today I put up more lights at the front, only a little more to do outside. Already getting compliments from neighbors! Makes me feel so good to know others enjoy the display!

My 2 new amaryllis are growing nicely and the older ones are going strong. I took a cutting from the 'velvet elvis' which is rooting nicely.

Good morning everyone this Saturday

Sun is up....temps are up, too. Going to be close to 60° today.
Heading out to the supermarket now. Running out of a few basics.
See you later, I hope,

His company thought it was a good idea and patented the invention and unfortunately, Parkhouse never received any money for his idea

Dreary here today, dark. I think it rained all night. I don't know, maybe later the sun will come out. I hope you all have a good day.

Happy Belated birthday, Karen. I hope you were able to enjoy your day! It sounds like everyone had a good Thanksgiving. Mine was good too. It was just my younger daughter and I, which was really nice. It was low key.

Pitmom, I would love it if you could come over and decorate my place for the holidays, too! You have been inspiring me!! If I can get more cleaning up done today then I am possibly thinking about doing it next week.

Karen, I did get some rest in this long weekend. And I did get a few things done. I am actually hoping to get more done today.

Jamie, I hope you were able to get some sleep! And Trina, thanks for responding to my earlier post! Cass

Good morning Sunday

Yesterday I received a scam phone call....fortunately I had heard about...
"Grandma... it's your grandson....can you help"

I played along (even though I only have granddaughters)...and said 'Oh Peter, I'm so glad you called...I need your help, too."
He hung up...heeheheeheee

Sounds like what I do when they call and say they want to "fix my computer" - I lead them along for as long as I can before I tell them I don't have a computer.

A friends father, who is in his 90's and of perfectly sound mind, can lead these callers along for a LONG time. He gets them to the point where they need his credit card number, then says, "I'm sorry, my guardian will have to get back to you".

Too funny.

Hi you all. I just got up from a nap. I haven't been sleeping real good. I think it is because the pharmacy got different generic pristiq and it wasn't as good I guess. I couldn't tell right away but towards the end of the month, I was having a harder time. Now I got the regular generic back and hope to feel better soon.

Good at scamming the scammers you guys.

I saw one on face book that was pretty funny.

Thanks Cass for the birthday wishes. It was a good day.

I hope you all have a good day today.

Can't remember if I already told you all that I thought I had 6 trees to put up, only to discover I had remembered wrong and there were only 5! Went on the hunt for another 7ft tree only to find they are making them GREEN this year! Waah!

Well, was out shopping (as usual) with Lisa and we found a WHITE ONE!!!!!!!!!! It was $10 more than the green, but Lisa insisted on buying it for me! Grandson and I will set it up in it's place in line tomorrow! I feel so loved!

Lucky's wound continues to heal nicely. Micah's paw was diagnosed as something between a bunion and a wart...treatable with medication. Spike will most likely need a booster shot of steroid. Sigh.
