Overuse can also increase sensitivity to noise (although when needed, they really are needed) as the ears can learn to rely on the headphones.
Thanks for sharing this -- I never considered reduced oxygen or other issues. I pretty much have to sleep with earplugs, so it could be an issue that needs to be addressed.

My dog Luna is afraid of the lawn mower. And all loud noises.
It's too bad they don't make headphones/earplugs for dogs. Or do they? With all the things they've made for dogs, who knows!
