Thanks Jamie for starting new thread. Chilly here this morning but not as bad as yesterday and tomorrow warmer. I hope.

Welcoming the New Year. 2021 has got to be better than 2020.

Have a good day all.

Happy New Year's Eve Eve! I bought a party hat for my dog and that's all I'm going to do.

Today I was carrying said dog and I lost my balance and rather than dropping the dog I set him down gently and I fell over. Banged up both my knees and I'm a little sore, but otherwise OK.

When I was a kid in California, they used to show the ball dropping in Times Square real time - so 9 pm pacific time. My parents would be out so my grandmother was with us. She let us watch the ball drop and blow our noise makers then packed us off to bed and we were satisfied.

Happy Old Year! (aka New Years Eve). Sorry to not post for a few days...was caring for a sick kitty who has made a good recovery thus far. Partner's Mom is going for a biopsy in a few days...mass found... colorectal cancer suspected, plus liver problems, plus nodules noted on lungs. Oh, boy. Went up today and enjoyed a lunch of shrimp cocktail and fruit salad with a little sparkling grape juice to see the old year out. Mom is in good spirits considering what next week will bring. Partner is a mess, of course. Hope everyone has a peaceful 24 hrs.

Happy New Year to all!

May 2021 be better than 2020, but not just in terms of COVID. It's always a lot easier to face such things when you're in a good place mentally... so that's my strongest wish for everyone.

I hope everybody had a happy New Year!!! It was quiet for me as usual. But they dropped a ball in the park. I didn't see it but I heard the fireworks.

I wish for you all a safe and healthy year. And happy!

Bought hose extension wand for hose, saves water, angled head, saves water,
fold out chair, is okay, and a shade cloth, sort this soon, this was a few days ago.
Got my coin back from Paypal on a shifty company i was buying a trike from.
Done some admin today.

A truck driver said to me once, it was lunch time, time to feed the worm! lol. HT
Decided to only engage in covid stuff as per need.

Hi all,

Windy here today. And when I say windy I mean gusts from 30 to 50 MPH. Some times 80 MPH. When it is not snowing it is usually windy. So I am sitting inside with my kitten and my dog. No crocheting with the kitten around! (The dangling yarn is too tempting!)

Loved seeing YouTube of The Who.... thanks for the post...

2021 will give us new hope for the future. In a few months time maybe life can begin to get better for many of us.

I pray for some better solutions for the homeless in this country to be given a second chance at life. Opportunity for rehab and better mental health resources. Jobs and homes that can help give so many much needed opportunities. My son was homeless off and on and treated so badly by police, beaten thrown in jail. I often say that homeless dogs receive better treatment , given food, a warm place to sleep and given a good home, than the homeless in this country.
I donate to homeless shelters every year. Wish I had more to give. And hopefully there will be a better solution in 2021.

Jerry and George do a perfect "who's on first" routine with stuff in Jerry's life.

So 80's. How many millions did that copyright cost??

Time is an illusion. Trimmed those grass plants, at front, and that goes around the side,
and some by driveway side fence, good boy. Paid 3 support bills, claimed, done me admin.
Windy as well. Great sentiments Chotti, was homeless 2 and a half years.
I give to 2 charities of great compassion. Sleep, good on ya trendy. Turtle battling the usual pains,
keeps me alive! Doh! Good rain yesterday and overnight, excellent.

Keep strong, live each day in the best way you can.

Time has flown by the year seems to have had so much that society is struggling . I can't wait until our country becomes more organized. Covid days are confusing.

Gardening today mowing still raking blowing out fall leaves. Have two pine trees infested with boer beetles taking a toll on them. Dropping needles everywhere. Will have them removed there over 70’. I’m tired of all the constant debris. I would like to spend time planting Lily’s, deer resistant shrubs. The deer and elk have destroyed the hydrangeas. Not to mention the gophers and moles. I prey next summer is mild weather. No forest fires here in the US or Australia.

HT getting good rain fall so far? I hope your enjoying your nice weather.we have ha d. Some serious storms across the Midwest and FREEZING storms in the NE.

So far the winter here in the NW has been very mild. No snow just rain and 70 mph winds yesterday. Found the leak in the roof , need to get a wet repair kit for torch down that goopy black tar goop, and the gutter is leaking , so will need metal type goo. Just had it fixed two years ago but high winds can cause a lot of damage.

Sending y’all blessings for the New Year. Lots of 🤗.

Chotti had to to take political references out per forum rules.

Hi everyone!

Chotti, the older I get the more I find time flies by quickly. I do hope things become organized so help gets to people, so many are struggling.

HT, like your new name.

Well, my temp job has ended two weeks ago, so I'm collecting unemployment. The stimulus check and additional benefits help, but no enough. This year I really have to find a 'permanent' job, but it has to be something I like.

I'm struggling a bit. Sleeping round the clock and literally have no energy. I feel so drain doing the simplest things. I struggle to get out of bed, brush my teeth, do my hair, etc. I literally have to force myself to do these things. Upset at myself that I have no motivation. All I want to do is veg out. I think I'm going to do some crocheting to help calm myself.

Forever, I edited out political statements. Per forum rules.

So my new mantra for 2021 is going to be something about acknowledging reality in the moment, and then finding at least one positive morsel to focus on. Instead of trying so hard to deny or escape it, I'm going to work on fully being present and also still trying to frame the parts of it that are under my control.

One day at a time.

Hello all. Mom went for covid test and preadmission testing...biopsy to be done on Wednesday.

Might do well to have doctor check cortisol levels...prolonged stress can mess with this hormone which then messes with others. We've all been strained over the last few months with no end in sight.

Sick cat had been getting better, then had a relapse, is on the mend again but still very weak. She's keeping my mind off my own 'troubles' though and wanting to be held...a lot...which is unusual for her and one strong indicator of just how ill she is. Hoping she's well enough tomorrow for me to get out of the house for about an hour...I need a change of scenery for just a little bit if possible.

Lisa bought me a new white hellebore this weekend. Will be a nice addition to my burgundy one in the garden and is brightening the living room with the two Cyclamen she also bought me recently. Growing things really help me in winter.

Hope you are all having a peaceful 24 hrs.

My dog, Sid, died unexpectedly this morning of sepsis brought on most likely by a perforated bowel. I was crushed this morning - it was hard to get home from the vet's office - but I am a little better now. I had a kind of unsettling call from my old supervisor which started out weird but ended up with him asking if I might be avaiable to come back to work. Not a great day all around, though.
