Sounds like me. I had a short report done at work and someone deleted it so I had to redo it. This was just part of a difficult day. I have tomorrow off and visit with my therapist and med nurse so that should be better.

I spent the weekend in Utah - the garden is further along there. The daffodils are done but I have a salvia blooming and a couple of flowering ground covers that I don't remember the names of. The lavender and russian sage are coming back from the bottom so I trimmed some of the dead stuff off the top. The lilac bush has only a few blooms this year but it is very old and badly needs pruning. The sand cherry is still alive with a few leaves but no blooms. Whenever I am out there I do something stupid that I call an "Extreme Gardening Injury" - like it's a sport. This time I tripped while I was running away from the sprinkler and landed in the roses and the cypress bush. Only a few thorns in my hand and fortunately no one saw me.

Sorry Pitmom. I was actually replying to Green Beans post. I am sorry you are not feeling good. I have heard that there is a place between depression and thriving called "languishing" that a lot of people are in due to the pandemic. I would imagine it's worse for those of us with depression. I feel like I am in that spot.

"Languishing" is the perfect word for life right now! Waiting for Covid masking/etc to pass.

Bad day. Having a hard time moving. Meetings today with both my therapist and my med nurse who both suggested simple things for me to do today but I could not. Rained today which didn't help. Tomorrow I'll try to find something interesting to do to get out of the house.

Kathy its awful when this abyss opens and it feels we are holding on by tips of fingers! [I chew/cut my nails short short short]

Last time I was where you are, finally found strength to do the following.

Had to put dog out, but I would not go out. Finally in with my coffee, I noticed the morning song 🎵 of birds
Sat on patio, drank my coffee

Took awhile
From back yard to independent again
You will do it in your own time
Peace and hugs

Sending many healing thoughts. Blue skies load of washing out, got another ready, linen.
Assisted my colleagues client on self managing her plan. NDIS. Have another session with her Tuesday.
A little step back into the field, yay.
Had Pfizer jab yesterday and the free intense massage on wed, and still sore, a good thing.

Keep strong, HT

Better day today. I started out slow, like you said, Trina, by taking the dog out. Then I got dressed. then I swept the floor, then I actually made breakfast instead of eating cookies. Granted, it was canned biscuits, but it's a start. I took the dog to Denver and we went to two dog parks and three thrift stores. Then to the grocery store, which I had to do to pick up a prescription. It may sound strange, but what really helped my mood was that my husband called to tell me my mother in law died this morning. Not that I'm happy she's dead, although she has been a thorn in my side for the last 30 years, but more that I felt like I could help my family out even if it was just little things, like checking in on them, notifying a few friends, etc. Makes me realize how useless I've felt for months.

I'm heading out to Florida tomorrow to see family. I'm happy to be leaving NY although it's for a few weeks. I'm looking forward to a change of scenery.

Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well, and to those who aren't, hang in there. I'm learning to take things one day at a time.

Hello all. I'm still holding on.

The garden is doing well. Strawberries forming nicely...more lettuce than I can eat by myself...sugar snap peas up about 10 inches...cucumbers getting their first 'true' leaves...kiwi vine getting new growth...finally found a tomato transplant that will work for me, 'Sun Sugar', a yellow/orange cherry tomato.

We've been extremely dry and hot here already. Had to buy a new hose for the sprinkler because I couldn't get the hand held nozzle off the hose I have! Cloudy and cool here today...a nice break...and a good day to deeply water with the sprinkler.

The honeysuckle has loads of buds. The cat mint is blooming like crazy. The mauve columbine are going strong and I actually have one deep purple one this year, too! I've moved some of my potted canna to one of the back flower beds...their height should do nicely at the back of the bed against the house. I still have to figure out where to plant the pineapple sage this year.

MIL continues to improve...my dog Tyson continues to deteriorate. See-Saw of emotions.

Today is my daughter's 39th birthday. Not sure if I'll be seeing her. Wish I knew for sure so I'd know if I should get to the store and get a cake mix. It's not usually cool enough for me to bake!

Hi all. Turned out I did see my daughter on her birthday...no baking though...she wanted a Carvel ice cream cake!

Still haven't found anyone to do the repairs on my home, so I guess I'm pulling out my power tools and figuring out how to do it myself. I just wish I hadn't lost so much of my strength. This is going to be brutal. Not to mention the fact that I must 'work around' the dogs and be sure to have solid flooring by the end of each day since Tyson is having his DM issues and his life is tough enough.

I don't leave my house the last few days. Lisa and I had gone to do the shopping (about 2 hours) and when we got home...the dogs were out in the yard!! Somehow, they'd pushed through the back door, even though I had it shut with a bungee cord! No idea how long they'd been out there...in the heat...with no water...and no way back inside! I need this repair work done sooooo badly!! My house is not secure and it's against the mobile home park rules to leave the dogs out unattended...and the last thing I need right now is an issue with the Landlord!

It's been so hot with no rain here. I'm about to pull the lettuce plants and plant something else in their spot. Maybe carrots. Succession planting is new to me, so this will be a first attempt. I've enjoyed many salads and sandwiches using the lettuce, but at this point they'll be getting bitter, so it's time to switch crops.

Pitmom.

Have you checked for a community neighborhood website ?

There's an app "neighborhood" you can download.
See recommendations and ask for them from people in your area

Yes you can stay private if you wish
Peace!

Trina, yes, I've tried Nextdoor. That was the first one to ghost me on the job. Next was a friend of a friend of my daughter's. Last was a friend of my son. No one wants to work on mobile homes.

Good news/bad news....

Started Lyrica last week for fibro, feel better than I have in years.

My 94 year old Dad has suddenly been diagnosed with extensive lung cancer. Guess the Dr he's been seeing regularly is a darn quack. Sigh.

GreenBeans, I'm sorry about your father's diagnosis. But I'm glad the Lyrics is helping you.

I restarted the Abilify again this week. I decided that the small risks it had were out weighed by the risks inherent in bad lifestyle choices brought on by depression. I hate to be taking 3 medications for depression, but it is what it is.

Exciting news! We finally have leaves on our trees up here! I mowed my lawn for the first time yesterday. The daffodils are winding down, but nothing else is up yet. I am leaving on Saturday to drive to California for two weeks, so I don't want to plant anything else until I get back. I spent last weekend with my husband at his farm since his mother had just passed away. He is doing OK. It is a busy time for him, which helps. He's not really a husband any more, but he's still a friend.

Hello All

GB s sorry for news about about Dad.

My Neighbor is 93 just diagnosis brain. Lung, kidney cancer

Only found because he became confused.

Talked with him most days, he lived alone. No sign of pain and he had 2 girl friends

Pitmom, I have heard that about mobile homes. Don't understand it though.

As for the meds, so glad they are working for you.

Lyrica was produced especially for nerve pain, diabetic foot pain

I tried Lyrica for 24/7 migraine pain
Not what it was meant for. Slight improvement at best. 600mg per day

Ability worked great

Had to stop both meds. for VERY rare side effects on each

I.wont list them. Putting them in your head, would not be a kindness
Peace

Many healing thoughts to all.

At times, when darkness creeps in, we get stuck in the dirty black hole;
For the dark to break it needs light, it requires it from us all, this light is compassion. HT

Hope everyone is doing well. Although I haven't been posting lately, I still read the posts here.

Hi Weary, Jamie, and BnotAfriad. Has anyone heard from Gettingby? Haven't seen her on the message board lately. Hope everything is OK.

Been a bit depressed and anxious lately. Had a good talk with my therapist about using different skills to combat it. She encouraged me to meditate, but to be honest, my mind often wonder. I find walking to be a great stress reliever. I've also been getting into ASMR videos which are calming.

Have a goodnight/morning everyone.

Hi Forever,

I am still here, just been lurking. Thanks for asking.

Meditation just takes practice. I do it every night to fall asleep. It takes my mind off of all that thinking I do.

Walking is excellent. Glad you found some calming videos.

Take care Forever and have a nice weekend.

Hugs, Karen...
