Hi all. Better day today. Splitting my time between Lisa's and my place. Away from my computer a lot, so not much posting. Thanks so much for all of the warm thoughts and encouragement. It's really helping me keep from sliding down the rabbit hole.

Hello Jamie,

Hello everybody...

The forum has been really slow. Wondering if it will ever come back to speed.

Hugs all,

Karen...

Hi GB, Jamie, and everyone. Hope everyone is doing well.

I've been lurking around here, but not posting. I do notice that it's been a bit slow, but I'm sure things will pick up at some point.

Nothing much going on with me. I opened my etsy shop a few weeks ago, but its' not getting much activity. Oh well, I guess Rome wasn't built in a day, so I just have to learn how to be patient.

Let my friend talk me into going to Seattle as the tickets were really cheap. I'm at the airport as I write this, and it seems like a lot of people got the travel bug. Never been to Seattle before. I hope it's nice.

Have a good day/night everyone!

Well, I'm finally home after a 160 day sojourn to be with my father during his last days. I don't know yet what I'll be doing in the future, but hopefully I'll be headed back to life with a renewed vigor.

Dad illustrated enjoying his most favorite thing, motorcycling, until only 6 months before his death at 95. He built his first motorcycle at 13 from his mothers washing machine engine. Dad could tell you the roads and trails he traveled and describe the vista's he'd seen over a lifetime of riding all over North and South America. He made a list of motorcycles he could recall owning and it numbered in the hundreds. Dad restored antique motorcycles and purchased all kinds of rare bikes, traveling to Europe and Russia to bring back bikes never before found in America. He was a character.

how nice you were able to share the those memories with your father!

Times like that will ease your pain as times passes.

Forever,

I hope your trip to Seattle is a good one. And I hope that you sell items on Etsy.

Have a wonderful day...

Hi Forever -- have a good trip to Seattle! Just avoid the tents on the sidewalks, the encampments by the highways and schools, and the RVs. A "homeless emergency" is in effect, but this was declared over 6 years ago. Seems the urgency isn't quite rubbing off properly, but hopefully the newly elected city council leadership will create some change soon...

Thxs Paul. I'm staying at downtown Seattle. Went to Pike Place which I really enjoyed, but noticed there is not a lot of activity here. I'm going to ventured to Columbia, WA. Heard that a nice place to go to.

Off to Mt. Rainer.

Take care everyone.

Popping in again. I'm at Lisa's full time now. Brought Micah up with us, so less back and forth.

Wish I could say things are going smoothly but, I can't. Under 'normal' circumstances, two people moving in together is stressful enough but, these are far from 'normal' circumstances.

She is still in fresh grief, her Mom left no will, her sisters are leaving settling the estate for her to handle (pay for) and her OCD is raging. As for me, I'm having a lot of anxiety in the house and in my 'new' neighborhood (sooo nothing like my trailer park), don't feel confident finding my way around (I don't have gps) and the one route I did know is closed for road repairs (damaged storm drain pipe, with no clue when it will reopen). A little culture shock, a little homesickness, living in limbo about the future, so much uncertainty.

She had to go to Georgia with one sister, to try to convince Dad to move back up here into Assisted Living. At first he was agreeable, but changed his mind. This added stress is not helping matters, obviously. I'd hoped the few days away, living out of a duffle bag might have helped her understand that it's been tough for me, trying to fit my present wardrobe into one tiny dresser and that her desire to get back home would help her understand how I miss what is familiar to me...but she just can't see it yet...her focus is on her own misery and while I understand, it still stinks for me.

Hope everyone else is having peaceful days.

Maybe you need your own place so you can have space. It is hard moving somewhere new to yourself.

I hope things work out for you both.

Well forever, enjoy anything that puts a smile on your face...?

Paul, I can empty my wallet without a 2nd thought when I see homeless folks...
Not a good think. But they need fluids and healthy food to keep fighting.

Pitmom, sorry life is mess for you.
One hr at a time.

As for GPS. There is a free app called WAZE
Very good. I use it alot.

Hi all, I haven’t posted in a while but I have been “ lurking”. Haven’t done much lately. I’ve been to Utah but I am having a hard time getting anything done or doing anything fun. I am all signed up with the ketamine clinic. I am going to do it in January as my December schedule is all locked in.

Buena, I hope the ketamine works for you. Let us know how it goes. From what I've understood, it's almost like magic for some people, apparently working in a matter of hours, not weeks (as with normal antidepressants).

Trina, I also feel empathy for the homeless, or at least the "real" homeless. Around here, it often seems to be a "career" of sorts, by choice. The government provides services and you can also make a lot at the highway exits. Not to disparage those homeless thanks to setbacks and events beyond their control... it's all too easy for this to happen, given the lack of a social safety net in the US.

THE TURTLE WAS HOMELESS FOR 3 YEARS.
I GET IT, UNLESS YOU HAVE BEEN HOMELESS, YOU DON'T. NOT A CAREER CHOICE MANY WOULD WANT YOU WOULD THINK. AM VOLUNTEERING AT A PLACE WHERE THE HOMELESS COME FOR A FEED, TOILETRIES, BLANKETS, FRUIT AND VEG. HOMELESSNESS HAS MANY FORMS, SADLY WE NOT KNOW WHY BUT AN EAR GIVEN AND YOU WILL FIND OUT. HT

Jamie.
What a horrible ordeal!
I am sure what Paul was referring to, was not elective homeless people.

Rather, the scum we have here at least in the NE of America.
Scenario:
Person looks for all intent purposes homeless.. collecting on heavy traffic corner
Someone Observing over months noticed an expensive cell phone
Then, he was followed 10 blocks, to parking garage drives out a Beemer. (BMW)

People are still doing it.
Makes me sick.
Always someone has to
cheat, break the law
Expletive mess mate.
Hugs

I know HT me mate!

You lived the depravity of homelessness. The frustration and pain in another persons' comments, can unknowingly be devastating others.

Paul. you just voiced an opinion.
Different countries, different issues on educating the public perhaps.
Same emotions..

The same thing happens with trafficking
Humanity, 1 step, 1 minute at a time!!

This is part of our depression. For many others too, I have no doubt.

Rock on!
