Thanks for refreshing the thread!

Growing our own food was big in my family long ago (and far away). It would be great to get back into it, if I can find a place somewhere remote (and cheaper).

Best to everyone!

Sometimes such little things can be annoying, and similarly little things can be refreshing!

I am so happy we are done with the typo in our daily thread. "Daily Tread" was dragging me down, even while I laughed at myself!

Had a stressful weekend at a college reunion. Not sure if I've become a agoraphobic from the pandemic, if it's the change in location, food, or just talking to too many people, but I am *really* glad to be home!

Paul I hear you! Delaware would be nice. No property taxes.

But in 15yrs. Mayneed a sea worthy houseboat. Lol

You can grow alot of food in apartments and small yards.
I'll try to find the hack/DYI site I used and for you

Hi everyone! Sounds like spring is starting with talk of growing your own food. We had 5 inches of snow on Sunday so no garden report yet, although I did see some daffodils poking up. But this is perfectly normal for April up here.

Still slogging away at my cancer treatment. My first chemo was 2 weeks ago, the next one is tomorrow. I caught a wicked cold last week due to my weakened immune system-hadn’t had one like that in years. My hair is starting to fall out. My husband will buzz it all off for me on Friday.

The dog and cat are doing well. We lead a quiet life, but when it gets a little warmer we can go to the dog park here in town.

Have a good day/ evening…

Best of luck on the treatment, Buena... hope you knock out the cancer and get past it for good. Hair can always grow back (well, except for those whose grandfather on the mother's side was bald, as in my case... but it's no problem!)

Thanks, Trina, for the site in advance. Wherever I go next, it'll likely have a bit of land (had enough apartment living to last multiple lives).

Feeling down and miserable, one thing after another for the last 3 weeks. Finally decided maybe I'm having some allergic reactions and that's why so many headaches and such recently. Went and gave blood to have allergy tests done today. They test for 45 food and 45 "environmental" allergens. No idea what I'll find out and if any of it will helpful, but taking ANY action feels better than sitting around wailing!!

Hope everyone has a good weekend, supposed to be 80F and sunny here. (Maybe a little too hot, a little too soon!)

Hi all. I know it's been a long while since I checked in. I'm a total wreck. My daughter died April 7th. She had collapsed April 5th, was pronounced April 7th but because she was an organ donor, I didn't get to let her go until April 10th. The organ transplant people tell me she saved 3 lives with her liver and her kidneys. I'm still waiting to hear more as we must wait to see if there is any sign of rejection. I'm still in a daze. My grandson (her only child) turned 21 on April 16th. He and his girlfriend at staying in my trailer taking care of the cats but she's in the Navy and will have to leave soon. I'll be moving back down there. Hard times as Lisa is still grieving her Mom who died in Oct.

Might not be the most auspicious timing, but happy Mother's Day to all... Even if you lost someone, they live on in memories and their impact on your world, as well as through your grandkids.

Bought 2 corregated raised planter boxes last week; a bloke not far away makes them at home.
Both got soil, top compost and nutrient top soil, this one i have planted seeds in, the other is three quarters full.
Yes, a vacant block next door has been great for the base, the soil is rich, it is around here, as back in the day it was all farm land. A little more for the second, and last bag of top soil should do it. HT

Winter has started Trendy.
Did edging boards in the backyard, looks awesome.
Got some negatives with a family member. Am disconnecting from it.
Got veggies growing.

Waterworks have improved with the new medication. Bough a large clothes airer, on sale.
Front yard is nice, my mate is after some grasses, yay, need to pop in some colour.
Keep strong. HT

Suffering from the deaths of two significant friends (from completely different parts of my life) within days of each other. You know, the one you call every 2-3 weeks and the one you owe a call to. Feeling gutted. Both surprises - one 77 suddenly fell into a coma, was dx with dead colon. How does that happen and you don't know it? The other, 80, just spent 6 months in hospital and rehab from falling & braking her hip on the terrazzo floor.... and fell and hurt her head - 3 brain bleeds -- on the same darn terrazzo floor when she'd just been allowed to drive again.

I'm not sure whether to just crawl under the bed and wait for the end or exactly what to do.

Glad your homestead is looking cheerier, HT.
