I am so angry about the Texas school shooting. Twenty people are dead; this is the second mass shooting in a week. Nothing is being done to stop it.

It's gotten to the point where I'm scared to go anywhere and am anxious. Stores, schools, etc are no longer safe.

I don't understand why the US has all these mass shootings. I can't even imagine what those parents are going through. I'm sorry they have to deal with this.

Yes, I can't imagine what these 20+ families are going through. To drop off your kids at school, thinking it'd be just another routine day, and for something like this to happen.

My condolences to anyone losing a friend or loved one in any way. Some of these are more senseless than others, especially here in the US.

Shootings.

No words for my sorrow.

I believe things are in process to stem this tide.
How is this possible when 1 person flips, out of millions in a moment?

Don't watch the news for hours. Get outside, walk.
Drive somewhere, to a park, watch people.
Ground yourselves in normal sights.
We stay strong together not alone

Unfortunately, I don't believe much will happen. Mass shootings in the US has become common to the point that most people are numb to it-I know I am.

All deaths are horrible, but it really hits me deep when it's young kids. I had to turn off the news when they started showing pictures of the victims.

Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well.

YEAH, GET THE PREMIUM SERVICE, ASKED FOR SOME BITS, SO A BIT OF COIN, BUT IT IS WORTH IT.
THE COMMUNITY CENTRE GARDEN I CHECKED OUT YESTERDAY IS AWESOME, WILL GO ON A THURSDAY. NEXT! WAS MEANT TO DO A TRAINING COURSE TODAY, HOWEVER I HAVE BEEN DEADLY EXHAUSTED AND MY PARTNER NOTICED IT LAST NIGHT.

KEEP STRONG, HT

FREAKED OUT WHEN THE BIKE SHOP SAID WE AINT SEEN OR DONE A BEAST LIKE YOURS, BRAKES ARE OVERSEAS.
THEN HE SAID THE PREMIUM SERVICE IS USELESS, AND LET ME CHECK BRAKE FLUID, YEAH HYDROLUIC BRAKES, AM NO GOOD WITH BRAKES. NEW FLUID AND SOME PADS, DISC BRAKES, MUCH CHEAPER AS THE REST IS NOT NEEDED. PICK UP MONDAY.
ALSO AS A TREAT I ONLINE SHOUTED MYSELF A NICE DRESS WATCH.
I WAS SWEATING BULLETS WAITING FOR BIKE MECHANIC!
GOT MORE FISH FOOD, THE OTHER HALF NEEDED HER WATER TESTED, AND I ASKED about MY FILTER. ALL GOOD. WE WENT TO THE SHOPS, BITS, AND A CUPPA.
STILL WRECKED, BUT PUSHING. A LOT OF ADMIN LATELY, HOWEVER IT KEEPS ME SOMEWHAT FOCUSED. HT

Checking in. Had Margie's memorial gathering this past Saturday. I brought bottles of bubbles for everyone...she loved blowing bubbles from the time she was a little girl. Autopsy report says it was "Sudden Cardiac Death"..."natural causes". Still only basic information about the organ recipients but I'm okay with that. They may or may not want contact.

My heart goes out to all of those who are grieving, especially the loss of a child. The manner of death not withstanding really. If it had been a tragic school bus accident on a class trip, it would be no less devastating...but no one would be suggesting banning vehicles. Sigh...just more anger and hate...I can't stand it. Mental health is the true issue here with these situations...how are 'we' missing the signs?

I've been trying to get my grandson to open up to me. He has finally admitted to me that his bio-dad did 'threaten' to pick him up from school (many years ago) and keep him from his mother and sue for custody. This, I believe is what caused his meltdown and refusal to go to school. Only now that his mother is dead does he feel it's safe to talk about it. My heart aches for him having kept the secret for so long...I think there was more to the threat, but I'm trying to ease him into discussions. At least he isn't saying "I don't know." in response to questions as he'd always answer before.

I'm part time down there and part time with Lisa. Don't know how long this will be so. We've begun the process of me being named as administrator of her 'estate' but it's complicated by the fact she never got divorced. Her 'ex' has been very cooperative though...but he lives in a different State and the mail is slow!

Hey Pitmom,

I'm glad that you're grandson is opening up to you a little. Give him time...when he's more comfortable, I'm sure he'll open up to you more.

It must be hard for you to be living part time with Lisa and the other in your home state. I hope things settle soon with your living arrangements.

Wow. Thought I'd check in again but I rather expected I'd missed a lot. Apparently I'm not the only one not posting much. I don't have regular access to a computer these days. My desk top one bit the dust and I'm only at Lisa's now and then where I can use her chromebook.

Settling Margie's 'estate' is at a standstill. I'm still waiting for her estranged husband to return the notarized form I need to be authorized as her administratrix/executrix. Getting Austin squared away with his missing/expired I.D.s has also been challenging and trying to get him to study for his driving permit test is practically futile.

Lisa is trying to be supportive but I can tell she's unhappy only seeing me for an overnight once a week.

I can feel myself sinking again. The things I used to enjoy no longer hold my interest. I just want to go away somewhere, alone, where I can just 'be'. Without having to consider another person/pets wants, needs, desires or opinions. Just somewhere where I can just grieve...just try to figure out how to live in this 'new' world without my daughter in it. I know that's not gonna happen and I just have to deal with it. Thanks for letting me vent.

Things not holding interest any more and wanting to go off somewhere -- I can definitely identify there (and trying to leave the rat race towards that goal).

Speaking of health issues, I may have finally gotten COVID, after all this time of (seemingly) avoiding it. Very bizarre symptoms, mainly sore throat (but only in the morning) and congestion that feels like the tail end of a cold (but I don't ever recall getting a cold during the summer heat).

I'm still here. Checking in every day, but not much to say. Trying to plan interesting/fun things for the future -- either next week, next month, or next year -- instead of grieving the last year. Doing the 'next right thing' day after day. Y'all hang in there!

Paul_t,

My aunt had covid 2 weeks ago. It was bad. She had a fever, sore throat, and fatigue despite being vaccinated.

Some of my relative who had it felt awful although they were also vaccinated. You may want to get tested although there is nothing much that can be done if you do have it. Get well soon.

VENT
WARNING: MIGHT TRIGGER, STRONG EMOTIONS TOUCHED ON.
I thought I was strong. Could handle bad news and find that silver lining.

I don’t know anymore.
Don't watch the news. Thought today let's see what the parade and
doings were happening in
Philadelphia. I live 20min
S.E.

Once again. Deer in head lights news.
So I cry. Its all I can do.
Logically and considering all pieces, parts and how we got here i can see it.

My heart, what is left, is cracking. Emotions don't give a darn. Logic flies out the window.

And so I move on minute by minute.

Thanks for listening and reading.
Stay safe, stay well.
Hug everyone you love everyday💋💞

May you find peace, tolerance and compassion in your daily journeys
Hugs

Thanks, ForeverP+. It's a very strange illness, with the sore throat and congestion not making much sense during summer.

Best July 4th wishes to all, even despite the bad news. It seems there's always something to ruin things, but we've got to push through to win in the end.

I wanted to say hi to everyone as I haven't been posting on here much.(Have been lurking around though). 😁

I hope everyone is doing ok. It's a shame how this forum has slowed down. Really miss talking with everyone here.

Hope everything is doing great.

SLOW, HA! DEAD IS MORE LIKE IT, I MEAN MANY FORUMS, AND MANY FOR QUITE SOME TIME.
I AM JUST about GONE ALSO.
PROPPING UP THE BAR ON A FEW FORUMS HAS BEEN AND GONE NOW FOR ME;
WHEN MANY PEOPLE HAVE LEFT. THIS WAY OF INTERACTING IS NOW A DINOSAUR IN THIS AGE, SAD, BUT TRUE. THIS IS A GOODBYE IN A SENSE.
PEACE TO YOU ALL. HT
