I am familiar with people that have tried acupuncture; also several that were firm believers in chiropractic remedy. I am not for or against this. There is a very effective acupuncture procedure for the aid of smoking cessation called Auricular Therapy; I am very much in support of that one, as it has proven to be very effective.
However, in the cases of mood disorders, it's proven to be very temporary and treatments must be ongoing. In some cases, there was no benefit at all. It's an individual thing.
Personally, I wouldn't recommend it unless it was administered, perhaps on occasion, in conjunction with the traditional treatments with meds and healthy lifestyle .... in other words, to be used as a supplement only.
