I am new to this site, but have found it to be educational, enlightening and calming.  I have dealt depression for 20 years, with panic disorder for 10 years, and anxiety all of my life.  My spouse doesn't understand, nor does he seem interested.  My children (ages 25 and 18) have been life savers.  Its such a revelation to read about the events and happenings in other peoples' lives - makes it seem more normal, not so freakish.  I have moderate knowledge of the medical field, but I read fiendishly and study meds, conditions and results.  I don't search the web because that only confuses me and creates more questions than answers.  This site offers hope, answers and compassion. Thanks.

Hi alittleunwel,

Welcome to this forum, I hope you'll get some good advice, for deppresion I suggest try something new in your life. since your children are adults now you can easily take some time for yourself alone or with your hubby

I sugest exersize or walking at least 30 min 3 times a week. once you feel fit you can increase those a little.
excersize does nice feeling for the brain and they say the healthy body makes a healthy mind

You don't need to have a lot of knowledge about medical health, or try to heal your self. for instance the deppresion isn't just one type. and diferent medicenes work on some people and doesn't work on other people. you should leave these decisions to your doctor or a psyciatrist , who should be ble to figure out what to do.

Hi alittleunwell,

Im so plesed you have found this site useful and a help to you - its really nice to hear. I'm pleased that your children provide a good support for you. Maybe your husband doesn't know enough about the condition itself and therefor doesnt understand what you are going through. Its hard when others don't understand, I know.

Akram is right about maybe trying something new. Im joining a yoga class on monday and am looking forward to trying out something different.

I hope you continue to post on the site

Keep in touch
