I tried GABA about a year ago with very good results. I feel it worked a bit better than 5-HTP. You can get this at any health food store. Make sure to check with your Doctor or Pharmacist, to see if GABA can be taken with Lexapro or any other medications you are taking. Also B vitamins work wonders for anxiety, panic and depression. I currently (along with Centrum Multivitamin) take 50mg Vitamin B1 (thiamin). 50mg Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin), 50 Mg Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine), 400 IU Vitamin D3. This was approved by my Doctor. If you are taking Prescription Antidepressants, I would stay away from St. Johns Wort - because Herbs and Prescription Antidepressants don't mix well. Another remedy has also helped which is a light Box that was prescribed by my Psychiatrist, as I also suffer from SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder). This has helped greatly for anxiety and depression in the fall and winter months where there is less sunlight. I also take 10-15 minute walks every day at work on my breaks. Exercise is great at helping reduce stress, anxiety and depression.
