Has anyone had any experience taking Wellbutrin XL and Lexapro?

This is something I wanted to do. Apparently its a good combo for some people, thats because Lex has a that famous drowsy, sleepy, apathetic effect whereas Wellbutrin has the energetic, super highs (but supers lows I believe) etc effect. So they balance each other out rather nicely. But this is not from my own experience since I'm only on Lex. Hope that helps you a little bit.

Take car Pierre.

Thank you for your reply.  I've not had good experiences with SSRI's so I was prescribed this combo.  Too early to tell if it's going to work.

Hi Pierre, Welcome to Healing Well forum, we are happy to have you join us here.  I havent taken either of the medications you have posted about.  My mother takes Wellbutrin XL & Effexor XR though and has good response from this mix.  Doctors do often stack antidepressants to force them to work alittle better or compliment each other more.  The only problem with this is that it is difficult to find a right balance as each person is differant and reacts differantly to these medications.  I am sure you will get more feedback regarding your post and these meds.  Please do keep us posted on how they work for you and how your doing.  Take care
