Hi everyone,
I am a 24 year old woman who had a baby 3 months ago, ever since two weeks after my baby was born, I have not been right. I have had all this pressure in my head, I have been off balence and dizzy, and I have not been able to see as well and I have been very fatigued. The doctors were concerned with this so I went through a series of tests, including xrays, ct scans, bloodwork and a mri. All of this is normal. I have also been very depressed lately, but I do not know if I am depressed becasue I feel bad, or if I feel bad because I am depressed. I have recently talked to the dr. again and he put me on cymbalta to see if that helps. I just started taking it last thurs. so I really dont know if it is going to help me or not yet. I am just concered that this may not be depression at all. Does anyone know if my symptoms can be caused by depression or axniety, or if not, what can be causing my problems?  I need help, the drs have done everything they can do and I still do not feel better. All my hope lies in this cymbalta drug and if it does not give me some relief, I think I might go crazy! Has anyone else ever felt this way, or has anyone that has just given birth felt this way. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Hi duncandon
Welcome to the board and Congratulations on the new baby! That is very exciting!
Wow, I am not sure what is going on with you.Depression causes alot of different symptons, and since we are not medical doctors we can't tell you what is going on.
I am wondering though about inner ear infection? have they checked that? It sounds too simple, but I had a very bad infection and that was how I felt.
I am sure your Dr checked that.
I will tell you that most anti depressants take up to 2 weeks to take total affect.
It sounds like they are doing all they hopefully the med will work for you.
Having a new baby is hard on your body and mind that is for sure.
I would make sure that you keep in contact with your doctor if the symptons do not go away.

Good Luck!

Hello, welcome and congrats on the new baby.  I do know that any type of meds like that doesnt take full affect for 2 weeks to a month.  It has to get into your system fully to work. I know other meds work so quickly but these kind dont.  I have taken physic meds for a while now and everytime they were to switch them i felt all messed up.  Like you mine started after child birth just never went away. I was 17 with my first so that maybe had a lot to due with it.  Now i am almost 27 and have three kids and as of today i have a lot of depression due to my health.  Before that i was doing great on the meds.  I wish you the best of luck and i can only sat have patients i know easier said then done but thats all we can do.  Your in my prayers
Asthma,Chiari Malformation,Arachnoid cyst on temporal lobe,Hypertension
Gerd, Severe nerve pain, Severe DDD, Osteoartheritis, Herniated disks,
Constent sinus infection, Bladder/Bowel problems, Depression and alergies
Taking for pain only oxycodone 10mg/325 and Zanaflex and the tens unit
God Bless You All!!
