I know what you are going through. I am at home all day by myself. I'm married, and self employed. No kids. It gets really quiet around the house too, and makes my depression worse. By the time my hubby comes home, I'm depressed and sad and even his company sometimes doesn't help. For me, sleep is my only time of peace some days.....
I find that if I can get out for a walk, even 20 minutes, to just clear my head and take in the fresh air, that it really helps. You could try doing that in the evening, and then hope for a restful sleep. I also like to watch t.v. right before I turn out the lights. Sometimes even a t.v. program that is light and not depressing ( no cop shows and that crap), can help me sleep too.
