Suggestions for a teen who is so angry with a father who adored her and did all for her, until 9 months ago. Nine months ago he took to his bed except for the 30 minutes or so a day he would get up and yell at the kids. She told him repeatedly how much this hurt her. He did nothing. Now she will not talk to him. He is doing all he can now to get better--but she will not acknowledge his efforts. She will not talk to him, not visit him, nothing. Help!

My suggestion for you and your daughter is to give it time. Your husband has just started treatment so things are going to start to change hopefully. I woudnt rush your daughter. Go at her pace and let her make the decisions. (As I remember) she is old enough to make her own decisions about this and your husband is going to have to accept that. As for your daughter, she is going to need your support. All you can really do is be there when she needs you

Everyone has a guardian angel. They help pick you up when you fall, comfort you through your times of need and help you appreciate the times when things are going well.
