sad My daughter has to start taking Zoloft and I'm sooooo worry how this will affect her in the long run she just turned 17 in July and a dr. that just met with her for only about 10 min. was rushing to write the prescription right away granted that my daughters therapist has spoken to this new dr. and she has been tiring to put my daughter in any pills BUT her dad and I have been dragging it for awhile I’m giving in because I as a said she is older and I’m really helping her or hurting her. I want to know any and all stories that can help me understand the effects Zoloft had on you/or your child Please help me understand and make a better decision. THANX  eyes

I do not have kids that have been on zoloft,my son was prescribed another med. But,you just need to keep in contact with her.Make sure she tells you if she feels any side effects. And don't miss any of the check ups with the doctor. Remember if the meds do not work it is not that hard to get something else.
I found a little bit of info on the net:

Good luck and keep us posted.

I don't see your daughter being hurt by Zoloft. Is there some side effect that you specifically concerned about?

I can understand your concern with your daughter having to be on an antidepressant.  But, if she truly needs it, I think you would have more to worry about if she wasn't on it.  I have never taken Zoloft, but I understand it to be a good medication.  Keep the lines of communication open with your daughter and make sure she keeps her appointments with her doctor.
As far as L Lysine, I have used it before for cold sores.  It is an amino acid and does work on the immune system.  In my opinion, it would have no benefit for depression.  On a forum like this, you have to take the information you want and leave the rest behind.
We are glad you have joined us and please know that we are here for you.  I know nothing can be more upsetting than something that involves your child.
Take care!
