I saw my doctor today and talked to her about depression. She wasn't entirely convinced, mostly because she said it usually takes someone having it for 6 monthes to really be diagnosed. And also, because she says that people with depression usually come into her office and break down.

BUT, she did give me 2 weeks of samples for Lexapro. She also took some blood to do bloodwork.

And she wrote me a prescription to participate in a sleep study. Cause I am a pretty bad sleeper. My old college roommate used to tell me that I thrashed around all the time, and talked in my sleep and snored. So my Dr. thinks that maybe I'm feeling so bad because I don't get any rest at night.

I'm also going to schedule my first counseling appointment on Wednesday.

It should be an interesting few weeks coming up....

I dont know much about depression, but I would get a second opinion if you are feeling the way you are. What could it hurt?

Hi Kaiti,

I too would get a second opinion... you cant do any harm, but make sure you ask in a polite manner. Doctors dont respond well to people demanding things. I would definately agree that a lack of sleep is not helping... is there a natural remedy that you could try? I believe lavendar is supposed to help sleep and relaxation.
