I don't know if it is just me, if it the change in the weather or if it is the diabetes, but I get up at 8:30 or 9 take my meds have a small breakfast and start my day. By 11am I get a wave of fatigue and need to lay back in the recliner and close my eyes. I sleep for about 1-1.5 hours and get up again.
Have a small lunch and try to continue with my day. By 3:30 I once again need to lay back and close my eyes.
Is this something I should tell my gp about or is it just me?

Hi Katie, it could be just weather or it could be that your blood sugar is yo-yoing.  If you're eating too many carbs at breakfast and lunch, you might be experiencing some downs in the blood sugar.  Are you monitoring your blood sugar during all this?  And - please inform your doctor, too, and be ready to tell him/her what your blood sugar readings are during those times as well as what you're eating.  Let us know what comes of this, ok?

Do check your blood sugar during that time but remember there are other possible causes for fatigue and you should probably arrange for your doctor to do a CBC.

I used to do this when I was following the ADA guidelines. Once I dropped the obvious starches from my food plan and substituted more good fats and veggies it went away. My glycohemoglobin improved, too.
