Neuropathy is nerve-related so, anywhere you have nerves can be affected. It usually starts at the nerve endings and that's why our extremities (hands, feet, etc.) are affected first. Toes are commonly affected on the foot but, I don't see why it couldn't be in the heel.

The only thing I'm thinking with the heel is that it may be a bruise or bone splint. I bruised my heel once so bad it took 2 years before I got feeling back. My Mom had bone splints and that causes numbing but is also pressure sensitive.

Have you been diagnosed with diabetes? If so, what are your sugars running? If not, have you asked your doctor for a Glucose tolerance test? You need to see some numbers to know how things are going and whether or not you are experiencing neuropathy. It can happen even at low elevated levels over a long period of time. Happened to me that way. Let us know what is going on and we may be able to help.
