I am so glad the snow is mostly gone and the weather has warmed up. It's actually in the mid fifties today. While my yard is still much to muddy and soft to navigate with my wheelchair I have enjoyed sitting out on my deck several afternoons for a short while and enjoying the outdoors again. I hate being cooped up in the winter time. It's pretty hard to get around outside in the winter when your missing your legs as I am and need to use a wheelchair whenever you leave your house.
I gave my husband quite a scare back in mid February when I was going down my ramp to get to the car. The front wheel went off the edge of my ramp near the bottom flipping me out of my wheelchair and into a snow bank. Now I didn't think I really had hurt my self, although I did slam my left wrist into the railing pretty hard as I tried to keep from flipping to the side. I got pretty wet from the slushy snow near the edge of the driveway as I rolled over. My husband insisted I go to the ER and be checked out just in case. While I felt I was OK my husband wanted to make sure. My husband was wrong thankfully. The ER doctor said it was just a minor sprain of the wrist and would be OK in a week or so. The one thing about it though with my wrist being sore it made it kinda hard to transfer in and out of my wheelchair for several days. It also left a very nice black and blue mark on my hand and wrist. The black and blue mark took almost three weeks to disapear. Thankfully everthing is now back to normal. Everything else is doing well. My diabetes is under control quite well, at least for now and my vision hasn't gotten any worse for which I'm very thankful. Just had to check in since it had been a while.
