Do any of you metformin users identify with this article?

Interesting article. My co-worker and I never associated a smell, but she did have the side effects mentioned.

Interesting. I've been on it about two months now, and I have noticed the smell. In fact, I just commented to my husband about it last night. I put the pills out on the desk, take all my other meds and let the metformin sit there for a while. That seems to help get rid of the smell.

I have been on met for years and I have never noticed. Now I also take Fish Oil pills for Omega 3s and that could be why.

Yup, it stinks. Such is life. It works... so a little smell problem is no biggie. When grown up humans... adults! refuse to take a med because it smells bad... And then I see these kids at St. Jude Hospital, balding, in pain, taking huge doses of chemo... Well... I just wanna slap those grownups!

"Whaaaaaahhhh! My medicine smells bad! I'd rather loose a toe or go blind than take that stinky medicine." Grrrrrrrrrr!

Yep. As I said, the only time I really smell it is when I open the bottle. I take my pills and put them into a sorter each week, so the smell is gone by the time I take them.
