Hi to all,
Well today i had fresh chicken and salad for dinner and a drink and my bs was 13.6 after wards plus have beeen to allotment and done stuff their so why still a high bs i dont know wish i did the more i seem to do the higher it goes dosnt make sense to me at all????????????
WHY is this so hard to work out i just dont know well hyave to go in bath was black earlier from above

I don't know but there could be a few explanations.  Normally a piece of chicken and salad would be a good (though small) meal.  What was the drink you had?  What kind of salad dressing did you use?  Please be patient with the changes you're doing because there will probably be a cumulative effect.  I mean that when you make good food choices everyday and have some kind of regular exercise, you should be seeing some lowering of the blood sugar.  You're doing fine with the dinner choice (depending on your answers to the questions I just asked....!).

This is why it is so important to keep a food journal and test. If you are recording all of your food intake and then posting your 2 hr. after meal blood test you will have some hard information to give to the doctor. He will be able to interpret the data better than we can.

The salad dressing should be the ones that are higher in fats NOT THE LITE DRESSINGS. Lite dressings have the fat removed and fill in with extra "modified food starch" otherwise known as corn starch which presents to the intestines as just about pure glucose. Regular dressings are made with more oil which sort of surrounds the starch molecules in the intestine and makes it more difficult for them to be readily absorbed. This slows a high sugar spike and makes for a more level absorption of the sugars in the gut. One of the best kinds of dressings you can use is vinegar and olive oil. No carbs at all, vinegar helps level out or lower blood glucose a bit, and the monounsaturated fat of the olive oil is very good for the cholesterol/lipid profile of your blood. My next favorite dressing is Ranch. It usually has only 2 carbs per serving.(Tablespoon) I usually put a small amount on my salad and follow it up with olive oil to sort of stretch it. Oil also helps with the absorption of your fat soluble vitamins present in the greens of the salad.

There are other reasons for high blood glucose that have to do with medications, stress and some other factors but lets wait this out a bit and let your food plan do it's best before we travel down those roads, ok?

what were b's before supper? how long after eating did you test? Jeannie143 is right, what you do earlier can have a long term effect or spike your b's after eating
