Sorry to hear of your situation and that you are no longer using a pump since it was working for you. You didn't say but I do hope that you are still using Novalog Insulin(fast action Insulin). It is necessary to use about 15-20 minutes before you eat each meal, for some snacks plus to correct high blood sugars.
Many People do use a split dose of Lantus(long action Insulin) since it does not cover a full 24 hours. The first dose is taken shortly after they wake up in the morning. Then the second dose about 12 hours or so later. This differs per person.
It will take some experimentation and trial and error on your part to relearn what works for you.
