Hi Aurora, 105 fasting is just above the 100 mark that most doctors say is too high for fasting. (They want a fasting reading under 100.) However, 105 is not critical and it would really appear that if a patient did cut down on carbs and get some regular exercise, then blood sugar could be controlled by diet and exercise.

As for exercise, I think I had mentioned swimming before. I don't think that is hard on the knees. Other possibilities would be "chair" exercises which are for those who cannot ride bikes or walk for lengths of time.
