Exercise (walking) is good for controlling blood sugar. Cinnamon is famous for controlling blood sugar. IMO you should watch your diet (no sweets especially soda, but cinnamon without the sugar is OK) and get more exercise. Otherwise sooner or later your blood sugar will eventually explode up and it would be much harder to bring back down.
I agree with LanieG that long term high blood sugar is damaging your health. Think of it as acid running through your blood vessels damaging your internal organs. You must get it under control.
If you can now control your diabetes with diet, exercise, and a milder med such as metformin then you will be much better off than waiting until everything hits the fan.
Male/62 DX IBD in Feb08. No meds, allergic to Mesalamine. Remission since Mar2010. Psyllium seed mixed with VSL3 is very helpful. Several Culturelle a day firms up stools. Food diary instead of SCD or Paleo.
