Lanie, don't know if I asked this before but it has me 'stumped' as to which ONE meter
I should use. The Ultra 2 since I got it has been reporting higher readings than the other three and does not seem to be consistent.
Would you have an idea/suggestion of which one(s) I should use to do the tests, as it has be nervous( and wasting strips).
I wanted to test my four meters last night and so 90 minutes after a meal I did a test with all four. I read a few posts from folks who said their One Touch Ultra 2 meter's readings were "all of the place, even a few minutes apart).
4:50 PM Oldest Countour (15 minutes) = 126
4:50 PM Newer Countour (5 minutes) = 115
4:50 PM Newest Countour (5 minutes) = 127
4:50 PM Ultra 2 5 MINUTES) = 150 (really scared me! - A few minutes later 130)
This morning I did a similar test with fasting:
7:28 AM Oldest Countour (15 minutes) = 92
7:29 AM Newer Countour (5 minutes) = 97
7:29 AM Newest Countour (5 minutes) = 98
7:29 AM Ultra 2 (5 MINUTES) = 107 (A few minutes later 99. A day ago it gave me 94 fasting.)
Can you "lift" my spirits a bit? (Someone told me a while ago "don't get scared until you see figures in the 200s and higher, especially if you are on medications.")
Some say after meal tests should be <140/180, and morning fast <100 or <120 (don't know which is correct? ADA says <180)
P.S. I really like the Countor and it's ease of use, cheaper strips, etc.
Not too fond of the Ultra 2. I tried the Accu Check a while back but did not like it at all.
(No medication pre-p)
