If she needs to lose weight she needs a regular schedule of sustained exercise like walking, jogging, biking, swimming for at least 30 minutes a few times a week. Does she do this?
It is good that she is trying to avoid sugar but that's not the complete picture. Can you tell us exactly what she eats for meals, snack? Is she eating things like potato chips, cookies, pizza in addition to her meals?
