Haven't been around here for a while but I got a flu shot the other day & thought I'd pass on something I noticed. The young lady that gave me the shot squeezed a fold in the skin of my arm before sticking the needle in ... as we age, it gets easier to fold our skin;) I didn't even feel it.

After thousands of self-induced pin pricks and enduring the minor pain, I tried this technique at home. Aiming at my middle finger; I managed to squeeze a bit of skin between my thumb & third finger & press the 'puncture' button. I didn't feel a thing! Just a drop of blood that my meter liked & gobbled up. I would try to post pictures of my technique but I am too giddy with success;)

Testing is now OK.

If you are newly diagnosed and worried, don't worry so much.

Chris

:-) Chris?! It's so great to hear from you! How's everything? And so happy that you shared a little trick. I'm sure people who don't like to test will appreciate that!

I hope everything's going well!

Yeah, but it's not that busy like some of the other forums, so that's good [for me]! wink

Does that mean that the advice has been working or that self-help searching is waning? Either way, I'm glad you get some time off:)

I think I may have mentioned my situation last time I checked in -- Mom, Dad & wife died ... laid off from my job 3 weeks after wife died ... all since 2012. I am living in interesting times. Been through many counseling sessions, meds ... just started metformin since my numbers have gone whacky (expected I think, under the circumstances)

Is there a forum for non-suicidal atheists that want to rant about the futility of the medical/mental health aid available in north America? Rhetorical;) ... cuz I'd actually like to talk about fixing things:)

Anyhoo, keep fighting the good fight!

Chris

P.S. Sorry about Trump;) Life is probably going to get more interesting for all of us shocked

No, I think you last had said your dad had passed away. I didn't know about your mom and wife! I'm so sorry.
Have you tried yoga or tai chi? A new puppy? Do you have kids?

I am trying to learn how to speak Canadian now. ;-)

By the way, I had to change my email because it was hacked, so I gave up on Outlook and went with Gmail. It's listed here.
