My goodness. Happy Valentine's Day!
Bob/BookRead, I remember your posts about
your daughter and I hope she is doing better. Now, let's see about
A 5.7 A1c is equivalent to an average 126 blood sugar and that's not a 'normal' average for a non-diabetic. Have you seen your doctor and talked about
gaining weight? And have you had some blood work done? I think before you start on a trek to gain weight that you should find out how all your tests come out. I'm wondering about
the reason why you're 50 pounds underweight. Do you have any idea?
Unless there are clinical reasons why you're underweight, I think the best way to gain weight is to eat more nutritious food, more calories but I'm not a nutritionist which is why I suggest talking to your doctor.
So, really, the best and safest answer I can give you is to start with your doctor and find out if you have any underlying medical reasons for being underweight. Sorry I can't be more help. Maybe others have ideas?
