I'm not sure if I discussed this here, but I've suddenly been having problems with skin wounds. I have some loose skin on my abdomen (a lasting effect of steroid therapy), and I developed open, infected wounds in the areas under the loose skin. I started treatment in our wound clinic the beginning of February. They were pretty well healed in March, but then they took me off Cipro and they came back. Obviously the infection was persisting. Anyway, I had my weekly wound clinic appointment today and guess what?
THE DOCTOR PRONOUNCED MY WOUNDS HEALED AND RELEASED ME!!

I hope this will be a lasting victory, I'm getting pretty tired of this war I've been fighting for the past 15 years.

Judy, I was thinking about you just this morning and was going to send an email!

I don't remember that you ever mentioned the skin wounds but thank goodness they healed! What a tough fight! So, fingers crossed there is no recurrence.

How are you doing besides that? Hot summer?

Our weather has actually been pretty mild, Lanie. And winter was so mild I sort of missed it completely. At least this year we're getting plenty of rain so we shouldn't have a recurrence of the wildfires that tried to obliterate Great Smokey Mountains National Park. So generally, our climate has been friendly ever since last fall.

My fasting tests and A1C were both doing great until my skin decided to try to rot. Then, of course, they went up. (I found it pretty scary to have open, draining wounds that just wouldn't get better) Now I'm just about to get them back down to where they were.

Good! You'll get them back to where they were. I'm glad you're not dealing with the skin problems now.

We've had lots of rain here with the storms coming up from the Gulf. You can cut the humidity with a knife.
