Hi have suffered depression all my life very sad and down hated it so finally went to my doctor.
He put me on Lexapro 10mg have only been on it 3 days but already feel better much happier don't feel as sad or down thank god.
The only problem I'm having is trouble sleeping is this the normal or is it just me ? any advise would be great.

Hi Tony. I don't take Lexapro. Did you mean to post this in the Diabetes forum or Depression? More folks over in that forum would be able to help out with some answers.

I'm glad it's helping with the depression but sorry about the sleep problems. Maybe you should speak to your doctor?

I take Lexapro for anxiety and a little depression. It is a good med for sure. You are probably experiencing "start up" side effects which can include insomnia.

Many people take it in the morning to avoid nightime sleep issues. After a while you will be more accustomed to it and probably be able to take it whenever.

Also, I take 5mg twice a day (in the morning and after lunch), which seems to be better for me. Of course talk to your doc about all this, just my experience.
Anxiety Sufferer Since the 1980s

Medications:
Lexapro @ 10mg per day
Trazodone as needed for sleep
