Welcome to HealingWell, all in smile. Sorry it's been a seesaw with the diet. I know what that's like. I do have Bernstein's book (and his Diet book, too) but I do not follow the very strict level of low carbs. After all, he is type 1 and of course dependent on insulin so every gram of carb he eats has to be accounted for. I am type 2 and until a few years ago I was just diet and exercise controlled but could not keep it at the intensity level of physical activity. I'm now on metformin but very low carb. I do not eat bread, rice, potatoes, anything with sugar or flour, sometime some berries. But there are carbs in green beans and other vegetables anyway, so I eat whatever meat I want and lots of greens and vegetables, both raw and cooked, nuts, peanut butter, cheese. Regardless, even with this eating plan, there must be a level of activity not only to work off the carbs but for general health: heart, circulation, lungs, and
the mind. Sometimes we forget about
our brain and mind.
Anyway, that is basically the eating plan I follow. What are you eating?
