Well for prevention I drink upto 10 cups of green tea a day, eat garlic with salad and dinner, use balsamic vinegar everyday on dinner and salad, also make sure I got adequate intake of zinc. Also generally eating healthy helps prevent colds, flu etc etc :) I haven't had a cold or flu in quite a few years since starting eating healthy and starting CR!

I use buckley's. It does taste yucky but it usually works really well and it doesn't have all the sugar and alcohol added to it. I also drink diet gingerale.

Check with your doctor or office nurse for a list of 'diabetic approved' cold and flu medicines. You can also check with your pharmacist (or chemist, as you say) about which over the counter medications are safest for diabetics. In some cases you may just need to take the med you need to get through the illness. Me, I treat myself with chicken soup, sugar-free cough medicine and nasal spray for head congestion. If you're ill right now I hope you heal soon.
