I was researching diabetes and I found that some symptoms were:
frequent urination(drinking two cans of soda=around seven trips within an hour.. granted I stand a whopping 5'3" 115lbs  :P )
-(^^^^ maybe thats normal.. i dont know..)
thirst(I drink a lot of coffee, lemonade, oj.. sadly barely any water, but that goes for soda too)
hunger(I eat a lot but.. never seem to gain weight..)
fatigue(sleeps 14 hours.. not all at once)
-(i think im depressed too)
blurry eyes(.. I have bad eyes from radiation and stuff.. so this probably doesn't not count)
The quirks are my grandpa has diabetes(I think...) and my grandma has had problems with high blood pressure.
I've heard diabetes is prevalent with Pacific Islanders(although not exclusively).  Anyhoooo, just wondering what other people think, if I should be concerned or not.. thank yewwww. smurf

Hi Chibi,

Well those are a bunch of the warning signs.  There is a simple way to find out, however.  Go to your local doctor and have him do a finger stick (blood test for your blood sugar level).  Your insurance should cover the trip and you can find out in 5 mins if you are normal or have something to worry about

Before you go you should fast for at least 8 hours.  That usually means that if you are going in the morning...no food or anything after 8pm (with the exception of water).  Again, no coffee, no soda...nada!!  Then go to the doc in the morning and they will do that little finger stick and VOILA.  The magic numbers will come up on the blood glucose meter and tell you if you have anything to worry about!

Hope this helps

Hi Chibi,

I agree with Warren - get your mind put at rest and get to the doctors ASAP.  One tiny test will determine whether you have anything to worry about or not.

Good luck, let us know how you get on!
