My dietician told me that my fasting bg (first thing in the morning) should be under 100.  Then two hours after eating my bg should be 140 or under.  Hope this helps.

The number 179 can be very high if it's the number you post fasting first thing in the morning. If it's two hours after a Thanksgiving dinner then it makes sense. If you are getting this number and you are on medication then you need to adjust your diet a bit. If you are getting this number and you are not medicated and it's more than two hours after a meal you need to see your doctor about medication...

Angel, it's all relative. When did you get this number and how long since you had eaten anything?
