I am a type 2 on medications, diet and exercise. Earlier this year my doctor ran a lob A1c on me and it came back 5.5. I had been testing every 90 days the previous year. Because things seem to be leveling out - all my test results have been coming back pretty much the same each time.

about March I bought a Choice A1c home test. It came back 4.9. I iiked what it said, but did not want to buy it just because it was better than the last one. I waited almost another month and bought another one only to get a 4.8 result. My diet and exercise was hanging in there. Actually, my exercise increased a lot making the test results more credible. about another month I found that Choice had been pulled off the shelves. I found one on Amazon that required mailing it in - not my favorite way, but no other at home test did it that fast, that I could find anyway. Anyway, when that test finally came back - it took forever to get - it was 6.0. That was quite a shock. Well, the time between the last test and this test I did vary my night time habits some. I figured that the test was right and I really went off the deep end. I scheduled another doctors visit and got another lab test. Well, today i got the results back - 5.2. I now feel the last at home test was not accurate. My habits have been consistant, maybe not all that good, but consistant. Nor any reason for such a change in such a short time.

Has anybody had such results from home testing kits? Are they really worth it. Forget Choice, they are off the market, for now anyway.
