What is a good low sugar apple sauce? I've tried a few with the flavors added and I didn't like them. I like the low sugar chunky stuff but right now I can't eat that having a swallowing problem.
Thanks Flute

"Natural" applesauce (no sugar added, only apples and water) is available from major brands as well as store brands in a very smooth consistency, so it would be easy to swallow.  Look at the label and you'll see the ingredients.  Hope this helps.

Sorry you are having a swallowing problem. You can take the ones that Lanie mentioned and add a bit of artificial sweetener to it as well as a sprinkle of cinnamon. I like to heat it up a smidge in the microwave so it gets just a bit warm. Tastes almost like homemade.

I eat Motts natural applesauce. I was having trouble with severe night time lows. (30's) My doctor told me to eat 1/2 cup of natural applesauce with 2 tsp. of uncooked corn starch added to it before bed. You have to stir it alot or it will clump. It does taste a bit chalky, but I sprinkle a bit of cinnamon over the top and that helps. I have not had a night time low since. Also my morning blood sugars are not as high as they were before the applesauce mixture. She said the cornstarch slows the absorption and causes your body to absorb it more evenly throughout the night. It worked for me. I really like the Motts Natural applesauce. I don't add sweetener but you certainly could. It does have a smooth texture. I don't warm mine because the cornstarch has to be uncooked, but warm applesauce is delicious. And cinnamon on it........yum!
