Following a previous thread, here are a couple of interesting articles from one UK newspaper today. One claims a viral link to the variability in individuals propensity to store fat. I'm sure we all know of lots of examples of people who gain or lose weight more easily than others, now it looks as if there's more and more research into some of the processes at work. I'm afraid some of us will always have to work harder than others just to stay in shape!
The other link implicates some type 2 medications in an increased risk of heart disease. I know very little about these medicines, but I have seen other threads which mention Avandia and Actos.
Well, you don't expect GOOD news, do you?
All the best,

LOL - Sometimes the more I read the more I'm beginning to think we, ourselves (or at least our endocrin systems), are just a make-up of of a bunch of viruses :-)

There was a tiny article about this in last Sunday's paper and the research was amazing. It appears that they had exposed some stem cells to this virus (one of the E.coli ones I think) and the darned cell turned into a FAT cell!!! It started taking nutrients and turning them into fat! The plot thickens! (haunting organ music can be heard in the distance...)
