Hello, Freewill, I don't know that much, only heard slightly of it.  It's related to uncontrolled blood sugar and produces swelling in the thighs.  It's pretty rare though but can be treated especially if it's caught early, but I've also heard that down the road the patients have more complications but I don't know if it's because of the myonecrosis or other related problems.  Of course the best thing would be prevention by keeping decent blood sugar levels.  Uncontrolled blood sugar leads to many unpleasant conditions.  Maybe some other members can help you more with this, and you can also find information online.

My name is James,
My step mom was recently diagnosed with this
she is fairly young 40, not overweight, pretty healthy (Was) and has never had major diabetic problems.
she was working one day and her calf swelled up so much she couldnt get her jeans off.
she went in just told her it was an infection
then went to ruby where they immediately admitted her. She has had surgury to drain her leg, and well in the last 2 months she went
from a vibrate middle aged woman to as feeble as an 80 year old and cannot even walk.
I just would like some information, any information.  Im pretty worried, and need help.
So here i am, worried about my step mother, who is now bed ridden for the most part, has trouble even sitting up all the way,
she has lost at least 25 lbs id guess...probably down to like 135 now,
Bills mounting up, her parents taking care of her day and night,
and all i can find on the internet is that it is severe and she will die in 5 years...
Please, Please, Please help me out,
give me some info to work with

I wish I could be helpful but from the information I've found online this is a serious and life threatening condition. The causes aren't really known and treatments are only helpful, don't cure it. I'm sending prayers... that's all I can do.
