Hi all,
I am currently taking 125mg Lactimal (Lamotrigine). I have been taking it for about a year now and find it very effective. However, I have a really itchy scalp which I cant stop scratching. Sometimes it even bleeds a bit. Does anyone know of any treatment for this. I have tried Neutrogena T-Gel cold tar shampoo which helps a bit but not great. Dont suggest dropping my dose of Lactimal - not an option.

Hi there,

Have you considered talking to a dermatologist regarding this? They may have some ideas / products that you could try which should work around your lamotrigine rather than having to adjust it

Hi Twopeople. You need to talk to your dr. ASAP.  Getting a rash from lamictal can be very serious and your dr. needs to know this right away.  My son is on lamictal and when he first started, his neurologist told him if he developed any kind of rash he would have to stop the med right away.  So please - contact your dr. as soon as you can.  You can also go online and look up lamictal and read all the information on taking it and the side effects. Let us know how you are doing.
