I have a couple of questions!!  As I mentioned in my first post that I just found out on Monday the 17th that I have epilepsy.  I have an appointment to see my neurologist on Tuesday.  But if you can help me answer a couple of questions, I would appreciate it!!!
1.  The day my Gran Mal seizure happened, I was having some major pain in my chest and the paramedic told me that it was probably from lack of oxygen because I did turn blue, so I was with out for a little bit.  The paramedic said I was out for about 45 minutes when I finally came to in the ambulance.  My problem is though, it's been almost a week and I am still having almost as much pain in my chest, is this normal?
2.  What happens if I have another seizure, I am not supposed to go to the emergency room every time I have one, right??
Any information you can give i would appreciate it!!!

Christie, Number one, please call the doctor and let him know you still have that pain! It is not usual at all and you might have something else that needs checking. I am hoping it is a pulled muscle or something, but it sounds serious to keep going on!!

You can also ask the doctor what to do with future seizures. USUALLY, they say you do not need an ER unless it is longer than 5 minutes, you do not regain consciousness fairly soon after, you have several in a short time with no recovery in between.......

Please ask him what he wants you to do.....Usually they at least want a call when you have one to keep them informed to know how meds are working and if they need to changes dose etc...

Hang in there!
