Hi I am new to this site . I have another one I go to almost daily . Miss now and then but that's OK.
I have Epilepsy .I need to give you a background so you know how I became an epileptic had Viral Encephalitis at age 12.It was called chickenpox on the brain . The Dr's told my parents I would not live , I was comatose for 7 days . I came out of it . My parents were told I would never walk or talk . My first words were "GIVE ME A BUD."Bud-light commercial was on TV . I had a battle to walk and talk right . But I made it.
I stared having seizures in the hospital .Dr's sent me home with phenobarbital . The affects were beyond my understanding . I threw them in the snow . When I was 14 we moved to Missouri . I was having Grand Mal seizures , tonic colonic ,psycho motor , and other seizures . Mom took me to doctor after Dr . They said it was all IN my head . My mom said You betcha they are they are seizures.
When I was 19 I had a absence seizure when I was getting ready to go on a class trip . I was in the girls restroom with a few others . I started to strip and follow my finger in the air in a circle . The girls got the teacher . The teacher called my mom and asked why she never told the school I had epilepsy.?My mom was ecstatic that someone FINELY noticed .I was changed to a Dr of the schools choice . My epilepsy got under control.
Here I am 17 years later a normal person(or as normal as I can). Thanks for letting me share.

Hi and welcome. Thank you for sharing your story. Sometimes it just takes that one special person like your teacher to notice and make things turn around. You have a great attitude and I agree with mandi I think you will be a great asset to this forum. Take care Tracy
