Hello everyone, i'm a newbie.
I was "diagnosed" with epilepsy when i was 17, i'm 18 now. I'm on 250 mg's of topirimate daily, my last seizure was just last thursday when i was waiting for the bus, i was standing at the bus stop and then an eye witness said i passed out. I remember nothing of the account, all i remember is waking up in an ambulance on the way to hospital. Of course is wasnt my first epileptic attack, but my medication has been put up my 50 mg since thursday because of this latest seizure. I've yet to got all of this under control, and i've yet to fully understand it all really. I havent really took it all in, because i'm young " my god have i really got epilepsy "
I've searched and found, and came on this forum, because i wish to talk to fellow people about epilepsy and find out more about it. I really do feel helpless sometimes...

So sorry to hear you had a seizure, but luckly you were able to have medical attention immediately. Right now I can relate to your situation. I was diagnosised in Feb. My meds continue to be increased. I was in the hospital for a kidney issue and had a grand mal. Something me neuro had serious doubts about my personal accounts of continued seizures, until now. My medication was upped from 1200 of trileptal to 1600. It is frustrating but I have read many people stating that once the right meds & doses are found they can go long periods of time with out another seizure. I haven't taken it all in either, and also feel helpless. The bright light is that I now know what is going on and that is hope. The following web site was very helpful for me. Best of luck and happy thanksgiving. Be well. J
