so, I've read that numbness of the limbs is common with fibro.  My hands go numb, all the way to my elbows when I have them hanging down at my sides.  It seems to get worse when I have my eyes closed.  Why would that be?  I thought it was because I was more aware, but after several tries, I'm sure that's not the reason.
Also, when does the fatigue and achiness seem to hit the worst?  I've read many people are at their worse in the morning, then again at night.  I have lots of energy in the mornings, and feel pretty good.  So good in fact that it's then I wonder why I make such a fuss.  Then by afternoon, my limbs feel liek they weigh a ton, the ache sets in the legs adn back, and the numbness in the arms.  I feel so fatigued, it takes effort just to get moving.  I'm somewhat better by early evening, but that's probably b/c by then the kids are in bed and I can relax ;)

I suffer from numb toes.  The first two on both feet including both big toes.  The dr. that did my knee surgery didn't know what was causing it.  That's when I first started getting numb.  When I wake up in the morning both of my hands are always numb.  Does anyone else have this problem?
Mamanan, I feel a lot better in the morning after I get out of bed and get going.  I'm always stiff and sore at first.  Then when I come home from work in the afternoon I am so exhausted I can't wait to get to the couch and sit down.  Sometimes I can't hardly make it up our back deck steps.  I guess this is Fibro symptoms.
God Bless!

Ya might want to rule out a pinched nerve somehwere in your neck, this can cause numbness and pain too. I have diabetic neuropathy so i'm not sure if some of the numbness I feel is from that or fibo. I know the burning and numbness in my lower legs and feet are from diabetes but I do have problems with my fingers and some of my toes going numb periodically for no appearent reason so maybe some of it is fibro? I hurt more in the mornings and late night. In the morning I am so stiff and sore all over and at night I have horrible muscle pain and weakness. My legs feel like they weigh a ton and its so hard to climb the stairs to go potty or to bed.

I have the numbness in my hands and feet too.  It is very annoying. My feet also burn and just ache so bad.  The muscle twitches in the back and the neck or even worse and yes getting going in the morning is tough and by afternoon just exhausted.

My arms are weak right now. Sometimes it feels like they are so heavy that I am carrying 20 houses around! My fingers tingle and go numb. They burn! My arms sometimes feel like they like they are disconnected at the shoulders. They are SO weak right now!

Hi mamanan, Glad to see you! I will sometimes get the tingling and heaviness is my
arms and legs but it seems to happen after doing too much cleaning or lifting. You are
a busy mom and I know your activity level must be pretty high.

My fatigue level varies, there are some mornings just taking a shower is a workout. I
usually feel my best between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm. After supper the pain level seems
to increase some and there are nights when insomnia keeps me up. That has a major
impact on how I'm feeling the next morning. And then there are days when I wake up
and have lots of energy.

You might want to see if your potassium levels are low. Mine were low for a while, and
did notice more tingling and numbness. I made sure to drink more orange juice, V8
and bannanas. I have been taking vitamin B-12 5000 mcgs daily and I think it has helped
with the energy level some. My Vitamin D levels are normal now too. Not sure if it had
helped me with the pain but I continue to take it.

I don't know - when I got up this morning my left hand was asleep and it's not waking up.  My other hand is stiff and not working very well either.  Fibro!! a constant companion, ever changing.

Hi mamana! I think it was Karen who mentioned a pinched nerve - I would definitely check that and also a nerve in your elbow can be pinched. The Ulnar nerve is the nerve that goes crazy when you hit your funny bone.
We know that fibro can cause numbness, but we should have it checked out when it is a new symptom! My arm had been going numb for three months or so before I went to my doctor and it is from a disc in my neck. I think the doctor was expecting me to say it had been a week or two - no I wait three months!lol
