I just met a lady last week who also has FM. (another forum). Her dr. told her she needs iodine supplements.  Is this unique to each person or common in FM?  Of course, one should always check with the dr. before starting supplements.

There's one I haven't heard before. Maybe we're just deficient in everything!

For those with low thyroid (hypothyroidism) be VERY careful about taking iodine!!! I had an experience last year that took almost a year to correct. Two angiograms, well one was angioplasty and at both had dye injected (iodine) and from that, it caused my TSH to go through the roof, so it took almost a year to normalize, changing my dose of Synthroid...what a mess...I don't know if taking iodine would do the same thing, but as Luvsminis said, we should always check before taking anything.

MT Lady:  I take it the 'MT' stands for Medical Transcription?  If so, do you have neck or back pain problems while typing?  I'm taking an MT course and the pain can be horrible some days.  Also my feet are hypersensitive and I have to fight with the foot pedal!

Duh, I thought MT stood for mountain, hehehe. tongue Oh, my poor little brain.
I've not heard of taking iodine so it must be unique to that person. Besides taking a daily multi vitamin you don't want to add anything without doc's okay.

Move over, Marlee...I thought MT stood for "mountain" too!  tongue
I use iodized salt and that gives you enough iodine...for a normal person.  Now... Marlee may need more!  devil
