When I'm in severe pain, I take ginger root extract. It was a remedy that I had taken for migraines in the past and found that it helped a lot with fibro pain. Unfortunately the stuff is a bit pricey, or at least it is for me, so I can only afford to use it when the pain is really bad. The thing I like best about it, is that there really aren't any side effects with it, other than some heartburn maybe, but that can be prevented if you take it with food.

Honey I take my meds as usual, percocet and lyrica. I also take a hot bath and usually go to be to rest until I feel better. That's my routine. Sounds a bit like yours !!!

I take 4000 mg of tylenol, tramadol, hot baths, hot showers, heated rice bags, heating pad and use my TENS unit on upper neck to interrupt the pain signals to the brain.
I got a new toy to use, it is a cervical collar filled with gel that you can heat in the microwave or freeze. Haven't used it yet.
No matter how you hurt you have to keep moving and stretching the muscles with rest in between. Find something to distract your mind from the pain.
Try not to stress over everything you should be doing or you will get into the guilt rut. Stress only adds to the pain.
It will go away, I promise.
luv and hugs

I take ibuprofen, Tylenol, malic acid/magnesium, hot showers, rice bags, a cup of hot tea and a movie!  I do the stretching exercises to keep moving but the housework gets put on hold.
Hope you feel better soon!

I try to stay properly drugged so I can make it to work. Take extra sleep stuff during the flare. Do as little as possible, and try not to think too hard (lol)! I am in the midst of a mega flare right now.

Hi Hopegirl,

I am in the middle of bad flare now (maybe I'm at the end, one can hope).
I take vicodin (750) x 3 a day. Zanaflex 4mg x 2 day.
Ambien for sleep (doesn't work so good). Or Xananx for sleep (works, but the hangover is killer for me).

Hot baths with epsom salts (no more than 20 min with the salts), microwavable rice cervical and neck pads, heating pad.
I sweat really bad when in a flare and run a temp. I haven't figured out how to stop the sweating. I change my PJ's a lot cry .

Hope you feel better really soon. This too shall pass (or so I have been told!).

Thanks so much for the input.
Stephanie and Speppy my heart goes out to you both. I hope you are around the bend and on your way (if not already there) to
feeling better. Nothing worse than a flare up. I'm actually doing doing okay today. No need for Percocet so its just Lyrica 200mgs X 2 and probably a Ambien CR tonight. wink
