I have been on soma's for a long time which usually work when I take them. But the doc recently are trying me on zanaflex. I am on 2nd day of trying them. So for those of you that have tried them. Which has worked best? And are there any side affects of zanaflex? Thanks for your help!

Hi Poco,

I'm new here, so hi!! I have been on Soma in the past and I had a very foggy hang over from it. I usually only take the muscle relaxers at nite and Soma just left me loopy. I take 4 mg of Zanaflex and I like it the best out of the ones I have tried. (Soma, Flexeril, Baclofen, Zanaflex and Flexeril ER and others I don't remember the names of...).

I think this is a personal thing though, all depends on how your body handles each one. My Mom takes Soma for her neck and I know she is happy with it, but she is not a fibromite.

Let us know how you do! :-)

I take 6 mg of Zanaflex every night and have never had a problem with side effects from it. That is saying a lot actually, I normally have some problem or another with meds. My neuro switched me to zanaflex for one reason, fewest side effects while maintaining high therapeutic levels.

I don't have any experience with soma, so I can't tell you anything about it.
