Hi all.  I'm so excited to have found this site.  I was dx with fibro last summer (2007), but I've been struggling with it since 2000.  Of course, I have many other health problems, but the fibro seems to be the squeaky wheel more often than not.  :-)
I am the 30-something mother of one beautiful daughter and the wife of a supportive husband (I'm very blessed).  I love to read, and watch movies, and I am a reality t.v. junkie (anyone else love "Survivor"?).
I struggle with all of the day to day yucky stuff fibro brings including pain, "fog", exhaustion, frustration, isolation, etc., but I remain hopeful.
This seems like a very caring, supportive group of "Fibro Friends", and I'm happy to be here.

Hi AustenFan, Welcome to the family. You are blessed to have a DD and a supportive hubby. Sometimes that is half the battle. We all 'enjoy' the fog and pain and don't forget the fatigue, you will fit in very nicely. lol Hopefully, you will feel less isolated by coming on here and sharing. We have some wonderful ppl here, we share, we vent, we laugh, it all helps us to make it through many rough days. Many of the 'family' are readers, also and movie fans.

Good to have you join, pls post again so we can get to know you better.  Hope you have a good day!

God bless.  Alice.

Hi there Austenfan,

Welcome to HealilngWell fibromyalgia forum. There is a wonderful group of members here and we really love newcomers.

I hope that you feel comfortable enough to keep posting. We have lots to share with you.

There is a thread called fibro 101. It is the second thread on the first page. If you like to read, I think that you will enjoy reading that thread, there is a lot of wonderful information on it. And I think that you will find that we are all in the same boat with symptoms. We have found that we have so much in common. It is fun to read.

I hope that you have a wonderful day. Keep posting.

Luv and hugs, Karen

Hi AustenFan and welcome to the family. Oh yea, I'm a big Survivor fan and Big Brother. Can't wait til the new Survivor starts. By evening my energy is gone so I read or watch TV.
I'm glad you have a supportive family. My DH has come a long ways in the five years since I was dxd, I think he finally understands it. smilewinkgrin
Read all you can on the threads, ask questions and vent when you need to we will be here for you.
luv and hugs

Hi there! And welcome to you!!! You are among family now. We do love newcomers and we all can't wait to get to know you, so keep posting.

I am Linda 56, and have had fibro since I was 28 so I am a veteran, but still don't know as much as some of the others. There are real experts on here and usually your questions get answered. I have a supportive hubby of almost 40 years and two wonderful grown daughters and one and a half beautiful granddaughters. (hahahahahahaha, my daughter is expecting and we think it is another girl).

So, enough about me. Can't wait to get to know you.

Gentle Hugs,

Welcome to the family. :-)   While you are very lucky to have the support of your real family, you can always find it here, too.  Actually, this is where I find 99.9% of my support.
Anyway, I am a TV junkie, too-I watch almost every reality show out there.  Marlee!  Why didn't you tell me that you were a Big Brother fan? shocked   OMG-I am obsessed with that show (Dan is a moron, BTW).  Actually, watching it last PM was the only good thing about yesterday. sad   It was just a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. cry
Anyway...back to you, Austen. :-)   Oh!  If you haven't already figured it out, I am the #1 babbler in the family.  Of course, I gave myself that name-I wouldn't shut up long enough for anyone to dispute it. smilewinkgrin
So, again, welcome.  I hope you'll feel comfortable enough to post any questions, problems, or frustrations here-if you need to.  And since you have fibro, I'm sure that on occasion, you'll need to. eyes
FINALLY dxd on 06/13/08
Vicodin, Neurontin, Ibuprofen for pain-which doesn't help, BTW
Zoloft & methadone (NOT for pain) for sanity-which doesn't help, BTW

Welcome, Austen, to the fibromyalgia forum.  I'm so glad you joined!  I see you have been lead to the Fibro 101 thread by Karen.  It really has some good information on it.
The only "reality" show I watch is Dancing With The Stars.  I just love that and it will be on in a few weeks.  YEA!
Meanwhile, read past posts and ask questions.  We are here to help you.  Hope to hear more from you soon.

Hello and welcome!! I don't watch much tv anymore since digi scrapping took over my life, but I did enjoy the first season of Survivor. Now my reality fix is leaning more towards Hells's Kitchen, probably b/c I work in the industry. You sound so positive, I think it really helps make it through the day to day. And an understanding family doesn't hurt either. You have found a wonderful, caring community here too where you can come for support and a few laughs. Looking forward to getting to know you better.

Welcome to our family Austen!  I don't have a chance to watch much tv.  I'd rather be on my computer, but I also love Hell's Kitchen.  That's about the only reality show my dh will let me watch.  He has full control over the remote.  I guess that's why I stay on the computer so much.
You will find some wonderful ppl here.  I'm looking forward to getting to know you.
God Bless!
