It's kind of a silly question, but I've been suffering from fm for many years and yah I'm a guy. So far the only progress I've made with my illness is that I bought some pills at vitaminworld to help me fall asleep at night. My pain seems to be worse than ever.. After MANY failed attempts of using anti-inflammatory and other medications, I've been doing more and more research. I'm just wondering if anyone that's tried using as a treatment if it works for them. Also what kind of process would I need to go through to get it ?

1. No discussion of any illegal activity or threats of violence. (ie. illicit drug use, including medical marijuana use, threats of suicide or self-injury, or threatened or intended physical harm). Discussions of suicide or self-harm that are deemed negative and therefore potentially injurious to others are also not permitted.

Hi probull,
If you read the threads on pain and meds, I think you'll find that we're on all kinds of things for pain as well as for sleep. Most of us have just accepted that we are going to live with some degree of pain. Cymbalta has helped my pain levels somewhat and I am taking like 25 supplements and vitamins. Yesterday I had terrible muscles spasms and burning tendons and I found a percocet I forgot I had. It helped yesterday but today I hurt so bad I don't know that I can go to work. Oh, a lot of people use Ultram but I found it to be a nasty little drug. Maybe visiting a pain clinic would help. I don't know the process for obtaining something "outside the box" but this isn't the place to ask ;) I know there are legitimate doctors prescribing things legitimately for pain and there is most likely a way to figure out who they are on the web. Anyway I hope your pain subsides and your day improves.

Hi Probull! As you can see by my signature, I take alot of stuff. I also have found help taking L-Carnitine. It helps stremgthen your skin (flu-like skin aches), helps prevent shingles recurrance, definitely helps with my neuropathy. Also, a big help is Lidoderm patches. You can wear up to 3 at a time, adn can cut them up to fit in smaller places. They are amazing! I was advised to take Inositol to help prevent weather related pain. I've not yet tried, but intend to.

Hope this helps some.
