After several days of pestering my doctors office, I finally heard from him.  The MRI results on my shoulder are better than I expected.  I do not have a rotator cuff tear  :-) .  I have something called Tendinopathy, I've never heard of it but I guess it's small tears in the tendons.  I also had an xray taken and that showed fluid in the joint.  My next step is to see a specialist.  The doctor did say something that concerned me a little, he said that my tendons were at a point of causing a serious tear.  I guess I wont be pushing it to much, no heavy lifting for me shakehead .  Hopefully the specialist can give me more information on how to repair and not make things worse.  So I will be waiting to hear from the specialist on an appointment date, I wasn't given the option of scheduling it myself which means it will probable be a long time before I can get in.
I did receive my malic acid in the mail today.  I took one pill and I'm hoping for the best.  I will start out slow and see what happens.  I having hard time with sensitivity to noise tonight, I'm sitting here with cotton balls in my ears and my 10 year old is driving me crazy talking to me.
She is such a sweetie pie but I'm not up to this tonight.  And to top it off my husband has the tv so loud (or maybe it's just me, I swear the man is deaf) I can't think.  I am going to end this now, I've already had to retype all of this because my dog unplugged me trying to get my attention.  Calgon take me away!!!!!!!

Its so good that finally someones mri showed something, it must be a releif to you. I was so dissapointed when mine showed nothing as after that I was pretty much dismissed by the medical people and thats when I had to start to fight for treatment.

I am much better now I see a specialist as well and with the right meds its so much easier.  I have shocking noise sensitivty It drives me crazy, I can hear a pin drop.   get better soon. Glad they have something at least to work with .  hugs suez2 sad :-)

Hi Meggie, glad you finally got the MRI results. That's ok to pester the dr.'s office. You just need to do that sometimes or it will take forever. For various reasons, I once had to wait 20 days to hear from the doc about MRI results. I was pretty nuts by that time. your results sound like good news-bad news. Hopefully the specialist, I assume an orthopedic surgeon, will give you some real good answers real soon. You may have to pester them about an ASAP appointment. One thing about shoulder MRI's is that my orthopedic guy doesn't really like them much because he says they all say that there is a partial or small tears in the cuff which may mean nothing in reality as far as your pain is concerned. Just his opinion, mind you. I know you want answers and I'll keep hoping for you that it isn't as bad as it sounds like it could be. I'll be hoping for a quick and easy fix for you. I also hope things get real quiet around your house real soon. Sounds like you could use a break. Take care. Lisa

I wonder if tendinopathy is related to fibro? I was told I had bursitis in both shoulders, and pattella femoral syndrome in my knee. But my new doctor said that I have too much range of motion in my shoulders for that, and the knee also doesn't fit with that type of injury. At the time he examined me for that, my joints were feeling better, so it was hard for him to tell. But he did mention something about the tendons. I didn't know they could see that with an MRI! I am glad that you are gettign it looked into.

Keep us posted on how the malic acid is working. I'm waiting for my shipment to come in. Aren't you glad the kids are back in school? It has been sooo quiet in the house these last 3 days with just the baby. The noise drives me around the bend too. 2 nights ago dh was practicing on his guitar, and I had to tell him to turn it down! lol
in the land of Limbo, taking OTC meds (which don't work).  Started at 5mg of amitriptyline.

Do you have diabetes? Tendon and ligament problems are part of that. Just curious...

Also, about the malic acid, in the research studies "feeling better" results were not attained until 2400mg of malic acid a day were taken and in the system. I take 3200mg a day myself. I don't want you to feel disappointed when the smaller dose you are taking doesn't work. You can supplement with apples if you like. Malic acid is derived from apple skins. It's also one of the fruit acids that is in so many of the hair products that help your hair heal and look sleek and shiny.

The malic acid doesn't work for everyone but if you are one of the lucky ones, hoo ray!

Thanks for all the support.  I have heard from the doctor already shocked , I know, I have an appointment set for the 26th.  I'm really nervous, the last exam was so painful.  I really am not sure what to think of the results or what to expect.  It doesn't sound to me like the tears I have could be causing that much pain and somedays I'm popping pills left and right.  I do have fluid that showed up on the xray, so maybe that is causing some of the pain.  I have been having problems with my other arm since the last exam too.  I get sharp pains in the shoulder joint and the muscles up and down the arm are very painful to the touch.  Almost like I have bruised the whole arm.  So I don't no, this may all be the fibro agravated by the fluid.  The pain in the bad shoulder is so bad today I can't even have my bra stap on it.  I think it's just the stress of everything, I need to relax a little.

As for diabetes, I have been checked and I do not have that.  And the Malic Acid so far is good, no IBS problems yet, I'm taking it slow, one pill right now.  I do know that it will be awhile before I know if it works, I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I am very happy that the kids are back in school but I do hear about their day as soon as I get home.  It's like a competition to tell me about their day first, so I have three voices coming at me right away and the dog with a shoe in her mouth whining for attention.  Usually the shoe gets shoved into by bottom, ouch!  Yes, I do need a break.  Tomorrow I plan to visit with a cousin for the whole day.  She lives about an hour away and I'm a little concerned about the drive but I really need to see her.  We have an easy day planned.  She has a lot of medical problems to.  We both need some girl time.

I will keep everyone updated on results and I will try to destress.

Thanks for being there for me, you gals are great!
